I spent the day yesterday helping my wife move her office. I've got more to do today to finish up. Hopefully not all day.

If I do buy it, I want to go with a flathead and C-4.......... Love the sound of the old flatheads!

That's your prerogative if you want to stay with a flatty, but there is no sweeter sound to my ears than a SBF.
I know a guy with a 3 deuce intake for a flat head.

One "6Pack" (Harley's Unibody...) in the family is enough...
Small blocks are OK, but I do love my big block Fords! If I were to change (and I don't really want too...) I'd swap in a 429!
Don't really need a ton of HP. I want this for Melody and just some cruising in the summer...

I love my 460 too, but coming from owning Mustangs in the past, I love those SBFs and what they can do.
My 5.0 in the GT was as happy screaming at 5,500 as it was loping along at 1,600 in 5th.

You still have that boat anchor (seized flat head) out in the back? Put it on the milling machine and bore the Pistons out, Wallah a flat head.

I am strongly considering scrapping the 390cfm Holley and offenhauser 4v manifold on the 2.8 in my old Ranger, I am having trouble with the Holley keeping things adjusted, linkage/vacuum leaks etc. it gives me poorer mpgs than the 2100 2bl at not much more noticeable power, if this rebuild doesn't cure it, I am disconnecting the secondaries or going back to the 2bbl motorcraft.
Teach me to buy a used carb off craigslist.
