I've used actuators, window motors, blend doors, and heater cores (in other vehicles)and never had a problem. They have their place in the market. But....
Don't think I would use a Dorman anything under my hood.
Two bolts and a couple of hose clamps. It wouldn't worry me to try it if it looked ok.
They smooched the pooch on the oil coolers for sure but that's not something I would have tried anyway. I've learned that lesson a long time ago. They did compensate some customers although I'm sure it wasn't nearly enough. Linkage springs and window cranks and small parts nobody else is willing to supply, that's what they are good at. Dorman fuel pump- no thanks, Dorman fuel tank strap or fuel line clips- sure.
I bought a Dorman for my 7.3 and I am suspecting it for a coolant leak. However the caveat is that I've had trouble with Ford tanks as well for cracking. Not sure where I'd go next...
I have a degas from Dorman on mine right now. I check it but I'm not worried. I caught a discount sale and inspected it before purchase. It's identical to Ford and even came with a new cap.
The oil coolers themselves aren't a problem. It's the supplied formed oring seal that they include in the kit that disintegrate from what I've seen. So yes, I'd use the cooler too if I had a Ford/International seals.

That's about it too. Only door handles and window cranks in my book. Some dorman CEO bought his 5th home in Hawaii on the quality cuts they made when they introduced the cooler!! Used to be a good company back in the day when I was selling parts. Not anymore.

IIRC - even the cooler itself is different. There is a video out on it - can't recall right now who made it though.
As far as the degas bottle goes, I truly doubt that the Ford and the Dorman tanks use the same plastic (at a minimum they are most likely using different suppliers - cost reasons). Maybe it will hold up for years, but specifying the proper plastic isn't much different from specifying the proper soft goods (rubber gaskets and o-rings) IMO.
I know that there are many threads on Ford's degas tanks cracking, but there are so many people that have never had a problem, one has to wonder if there isn't something else involved (ie higher heat, contaminations, etc).
I remember seeing a couple video's also. Here's one of them. As has been said before, they bring low volume items to market at a low price. Depending on the part, sometimes that matters and sometimes its perfect.

I've seen people twist on plastic hose nipples like they were made out of steel and then wonder why they broke. Some things under the hood don't need gorillas to work on them.

That is the one big thing I hate about plastic stuff under the hood.
As they age they get brittle. You have to be careful with them of they
can and do snap or crush with a clamp.
My OEM degas bottle cracked the other day. Just so happened it was on a Sunday so no dealers were open. Orileys had the Dorman bottle in stock so that's what I had to get in a pinch. It's been about two weeks with no problems yet but I do keep an eye on it just because I know it's Dorman.

I wouldn't worry. As stated before I know people that could screw up a steel ball with a rubber mallet.
