Well i have educated myself--turns out you can purchase the injector solenoid/connector--not sure if it's oem (says it is) and they are 80 buck from Pensacola fuel injection--heck with being able to disassemble injectors, polish the spools, re oring and get the solenoids--only time you'd have to buy a new injector is if you melted the whole thing.
Yeah I got 4 of them to replace the ones I broke the connectors on..will see how goes it
I must really love my truck...lol... Ok so here's the situation now...I pulled the oil rail off and did my injector work, replaced all the rings including the top one, redid the coils and started to reinstall the oil rail...all back together and it felt like the hose was cross treading so I back it out checked the threads. As soo as I go to put it back in the threads simply snapped right off the hose.. No biggy I think...I for the life of me cannot get a wrench of any kind on the top of the hose...Is there a special tool needed or what? Right now I'm at a stick point other than buttoning up the passenger side. I have to order a new hose but I need to get the to end off... I pulled the rocker assembly that was in the way but it is very close to the top of the housing...any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Joe
If you're where I think your at, I've heard people say one of the flat wrenches for the chuck on an air powered die grinder fits pretty well.
I have those at work for my tanks will have to bring one home tomorrow...it a pita to ge on it..it's the top connector for the high pressure oil line to the rail...searching Internet for new rail and hose now. Yep cross threaded it getting it back in..glad it snapped so I did not get it together and have to tear it all down again.
Ok so here is how today went....Go to the Ford dealership to inquire about a new high pressure oil hose since I broke the threads off of mine. They have it no big deal and its only $50..cool...however it is missing the threaded ends and only has what looks like compression fittings. HOW DOES THAT WORK? How do I now take the broken end off of my still good hose and replace the threaded end. I need the end that goes into the Oil Rail....Speaking of oil rail..Well since I was there and saw one on ebay for $100 i figured cheeck to see how much for a new one since I am already there....Yeah right $752 I dont think so..I will just have to clean up the threads on mine with the correct tap or buy the one off ebay and rebuild it...Any idea what the correct tap would be? I know its metric so I will pull the plug out when I get home today and go get it matched up...As i said and keep telling myself I love my truck!!!
What is the part number for the oil rail you need?
3C3Z-9T287-AC is the part number he gave me at the dealership. I am also going to need the fitting that goes into the oil rail to change it out on my hose.
Thanks
Joe
Yeah I found to hat out myself today also...I am sure that I can do a repair on the threads..I have a shop for that...I am going to need the nipple for it..
so apparently I screwed up but not a major malfunction...I did not realize that the high pressure hose going to the rail was actually press fittings that could be separated and thus I unscrewed the fitting thinking that it was a swivel type fitting and cross threaded the fitting when I went to re-install the oil rail. Not a major catastrophe since I can repair the threads on the rail but the fitting is a little different. If someone could point me in the right direction as to where I could find such part it would be greatly appreciated. I am including pics of the oil rail, hose and fitting that I broke when I cross threaded it. Thanks

Wonder if you can test the solenoids before installing? Reason I ask is this is the part that when it goes the injector is done and assuming this part is why aftermarket injectors crap out so much (I could be wrong as it could be bad assembly or other things) also I assume the solenoids came from that pensacola place. I'm just trying to educate myself on these for future reference.

No the reason i had to change them was i broke the connectors when i was doing the work...nothing was wrong with the injectors. I replaced the bad injectors that 8 was getting a code for with remans from the ford dealership.
