brought home a 96 F350 cab and chassis F350 today part of a trade deal I started back in Sept. finally done. very nice running 7.3 PSD and crisp shifting E4OD. it is a donor vehicle for my 93 Bronco. eng/trans/computers/wiring harness front suspension/brakes(except rotors)/guage cluster/rad&rad support.............. have the F250 drop I beams and diesel crossmember already in with new radius arm brackets and F/250 I beam pivot brackets. have a 96 F250 10.25 posi right beside the garage waiting patiently
took this coming week off work>>> we'll see how far I get? will take pics as I go. should be a good week, kids still in school till Friday!!
I can't wait to see this!!! Putting a PSD in a Bronco is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I wanna keep it 4wd though. A 2wd lowered with a PSD in it is gonna be sweeeeet! PLEASE post pics!! Good luck with the project! Where did you get your drop beams? Are they DJM Dream Beams?
the bronco is already restored and has a black soft top. I wasn't going to offroad it and wanted to be able to pull my trailer and still get decent fuel economy. DJM dream beams, were not in stock and had to be ordered, they fit F250 and F350 2wd and were significantly more $$$$ than F150 beams. I figured I should do it right as I figure I will drive it like its stolen
I have a low mile 2005 6.0 Van that may donate its heart to the Bronco eventually but the 7.3 is all bolt in parts form the 96.
I saw a guy at the Hudsonville swap meet that had a 78/9 bronco and he cut the front half of a '00 SD with the 7.3 and put it together with the back half the Bronco frame. Was some pretty nice work, but it took him like 3 years or something.
Yeah, it's a PSD. I was wondering why the 4/95 powertrain couldn't be used. There are minor differences (HPOP type, etc), but shouldn't affect a transplant. 'Course, if it's a near-complete truck, and gotten for a song, it might be more apropos to clean it up and turn it around for a few $$$$.
