I have a 96 stroked (408) 5.8. It runs like a scalded dog and I love it. But, with gas prices rising I am wondering if it is time to get a F 250 PSD. It did take a lot of work to build this bad boy as I went with internally balanced components then had to fabricate a sensor ring for the o weight damper. What do you guys think.
I'd say keep the Bronco, and just buy you alittle truck or car for $500-$1,500 w/ a 4 cylinder.
You could get 30 MPG with a beater car, and still have your Bronco for fun and hauling purposes.
A F-250 w/ PSD could get 18-20 mpg, but you'd have to pay $30K for a fairly new one w/ nothing special on it.
I just bought a 250 PSD and kept my Bronco. Nobody will offer me a decent enough amount of money to make it worth my while to sell it, so I keep it to get around and use the PSD for road trips and hauling.
The interior on my Bronco is a little beat up, but it runs like hell.
i wont give in to the gas prices, i love my bronco, and i figure the little extra it takes to fill the tank is a luxury expence. it is very worth it to me! my plan is after i find myself the perfect Bronco, to build a Meyers Manx to get milage in plus its the ultimate compact car!!!!!
Dude* listen, do NOT sell- I put the rig up for sale 2twice the first two years I had her cause I could not handle the monster; case in point -I almost crushed a Miata... sit tight and Chill with the old girl you;ll thank us later
Yeah, ok, asking the folks in THIS forum if you should part with your beloved stallion is like asking the fisherman if you should have steak for dinner. I don't honestly think any of us are going to willingly advocate getting rid of the Bronco unless one of us is in the market for ANOTHER one.
Thanks Guys, I thought so. I really do loved the beast. The PSD I want is too expensive anyway (49,000). And you're right, nobody wants to pay me anything for it, even though it is like new. I do need a passenger side visor with lighted mirror. EB tan. Anyone have an extra they want to get rid of?
