Power with ground cable connected

Today at a gas station i turned the truck off and when I came to turn the truck on nothing no power except this rapid beeping that sounded like the door chime beeping really fast I pulled some relays and swapped around and nothing so I diconnected the passenger battery ground and boom I had power, turned key forward and truck began warming up. But the ground was disconnected?? Hooked cable back up and started right up! Is there some sort of short? I do have a probelm with electrical bugs like the ac turning on with no key in whenever it is wet, but no rain for a week prior so what could it be?

It does sound like a GEM issue. But having to pull the ground wire off kinda throw me off I have no answer for that. But I would pull the fuse box/ GEM and check for corrosion on the plugs.

Get your batteries load tested, check the terminals for corrosion as well. Bad batteries and charging system can cause lots of strange things and ruin electronics.

bad dog kuzz is heading you in the right direction lots of people had issues with windshield leaking and gettting into the fuse box or cpu.One other option is a creature like a mouse in your dash chewing wires.
