No Power ????

Hi: Haven't posted in quite a while.
1994 e250 4.9six obd1
I was changing out the starter solenoid in front of the battery today. I didn't take out the battery to do it because of 2 healing broken arms and couldn't lift it. I took the neg term cable off the battery. Then I took off the cables to the solenoid and one flipped over and shorted to the neg terminal at the battery for a couple seconds( pos cable to neg bat term). After it was all reconnected, there was no power anywhere when key turned on.

I don't have any testers, good tools, diags here with me.
Any quick ideas as to the most likely prob/fuses etc?? These arms useless for so long let me have very little patience.

Yes check all your main fuses. Also the one that comes off the pos. cable. It has an inline fuse. When you find it grab it by both ends and give a tug. If it pulls apart. There is your problem. Good luck and get well.

What the above poster is talking about is called a fusible link. They look like little colored rubber things in the wire with numbers on them. You can buy new ones at the store, but they have to soldered back in the wire.

I went and got my elec testers and don't have any power at the inside fuse panel or the power distribution box under the master cyl. There is power to the starter solenoid, but I can't get to the rest of the wiring until I can get the battery out.
Got to be a main fuseible link.
Anyone know where it is.

You should have two large terminals on the solenoid. The one large terminal that went to the battery + should have some smaller wires or wire hooked to it. This is the wire that feeds the whole electrical system of the van. Right at the connection or down from it a little bit, you should find a fusible link. If you keep following this wire, you may find a splice, which distributes the power to several more wires, and there will be fusible links in these also.

Thanks Dave

I'll have to get the battery out of there tomorrow to make some room and trace them down.
