I have an old PlasmaGlow Line of Fire that I've used on my last 3 trucks. Surprisingly, it's held up really good, all LED's still work. It has the brake, reverse lights and scanning turn signals.
I'm about ready to put it on my 2015 F350, but there seems to be some goofy bracket / guide in the way. Any one know what this is for and if it can be removed?
wonders if that odd bracket is part of the tail gate assist....i do not have the bracket on my 2015 F350 dually....i do not have tail gate assist either...

I don't see how it can assist the tailgate in anyway. The two parts aren't connected in any way and they don't contact each other in either position.
appears to be a tail gate locator...keep the tail gate from shifting side to side. Is it beneficial?...maybe....maybe not...
I'm gonna go with maybe not. I'm just gonna remove it, I probably won't use the step much and if I do, I don't see the gate shifting much. I just hope it's painted under there.
