The order for our F350 XLT includes the LED box lighting package (option 66L) and the CHMSL camera (option 873). Is the tailgate spotlight (trailer hookup worklight) included with one of these options?
By spot light do you mean the little clear dome on the rim of the tail gate not to far from the camera?
That's the one, to the right of the tailgate latch. I believe that it's supposed to be controlled by the switches for the LED bed lamps. Here's a picture of it in operation:
The tailgate spot light comes on when you unlock the truck with the remote, switch the bed lights on from in the cab or in the bed, or open a door. Here is a pic of my truck during the day, with the light arrowed. Actually very helpful for hooking up at night...nice and bright. My understanding was all XLT trucks came with this feature as standard...could be wrong.
Thanks! I like it well. Make sure to post pics of your new truck when it comes in (looks like soon according to your sig).
Will do! Yeah, we're getting close: We have the VIN and window sticker, ETIS indicates the truck's build date was 3/3, COTUS is useless, FoMoCo reports the truck is "in transit", and dealer says ETA is 3/21. We have an agreement on the old truck's trade-in value, and rebates are confirmed.
So, we took delivery of our new F350 XLT Premium yesterday. Overall, the truck drives, rides and looks great!
However, there's no trailer hookup light (spotlight) in the tailgate. I wonder if that's a Job 2 change, a deletion to make space for the tailgate step, or??
The rest of the lights, both interior and exterior, are really terrific!
