I was a kid then and he pulled up in his custom 48 Chevy and drunk, I hopped in, we went out on a back road, he started driving fast and complaining about women, crashed into a tree, and my face hit the metal dash.
Weren't wearing your seatbelt and the airbag didn't go off?
Snow, In my 35mph head on i had my seat belt on and the bags did not go off. the belt locked and did what it was supposed to (although hurting my neck and shoulder to this day) I've thought about it a lot...if i was better off with them going off or not.
This makes me want to install a roll cage in mine. Nothing crazy, 3 hoops with fore/aft bars and tie it to A-pillar and C-pillar. Either that or add gusseting to all pillar intersections. Hmmmm

Every vehicle that I own (that I primarily drive) has the airbag disconnected. I do not trust them, and have no reason to. Seatbelts SAVE LIVES! Airbags cause more damage than good.

After dealing with years of neck and shoulder pain i wonder if the bags would have helped...who knows.

They very well may have. I'm no expert, I just don't trust them personally. I leave them alone in my wifes cars though. If something happens I want to know that nothing comes back that something I did hurt her. As far as me thoughI feel safer without them.
Very happy to hear that everyone is safe and parts attached. As a auto glass shop owner I see the Ford Production Facility decal in the lower driver side of the windshield which tells me the windshield is original from the factory and has not been replaced. As you can see the installation of the windshield did its job to help keep the roof from caving in. I encourage all fourm members to be mindfull of who does and how your windshield is installed. It really matters when something like this happens. If your quoted a cheap cheap price, chances are corners are being cut during the installation process.

Please elaborate, I've never heard this before. I getting the one in my 05' replaced very soon do to multiple chips. Thanks...
In my industry I find many shops quote cheap pricing or waive insurance deductibles to attract business. However, with margins small the shops tend to use cheaper urethane adhesive that does not meet the three Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) required for todays vehicles. Primers aren't used and the vehicles are released to the customer before the adhesive is cured properly to meet those standards.
