Drivers door roof was smashed because it took the brunt of the impact when it collided with the other(rising side) ditch. It held up damn well and protected my family...the reason we bought it in the first place.
Look everyone, I'm not slamming the EX. I have one and drive it every day. But I'm no fool to think that I'm not going to get squashed like a bug in a rollover because mine is bigger than 99% of the cars on the road.
I laugh when someone says not a real world test. You think freeway speeds will cause less damage than dropping a car from 12 inches? If anyone wants to live in LaLa Land because they are driving an Excursion - THE LARGEST PRODUCTION SUV IN THE UNIVERSE, be my guest.
I forgot, wasn't this the thread where we were happy that his family was fine regardless of what the NTSB said about our vehicles 10 years ago? It is? Ok, good just making sure.

I'm not nearly as concerned about rolling, as i am getting hit head on again like i did in 2010 and my old Ex gave its life saving mine.
X10...Those head on collisions are no joke. The wife and I were driving back in an F-350 Lariat LE that we had just purchased in Dec. 2012. At 9:00pm we were hit head on by a drunk driver that came across the median and through the cables. We never seen It coming. We both woke up in the hospital. I stayed a week and she stayed for 3 weeks. I now live with permanent nerve damage and she lost her left lung. It was a long hard healing process for the both of us. My daughters told us that we did not want to see the truck due to the inside. I took their word for it and never asked again. I am so thankful that I didn't lose my best friend that day.
I don't care what fuel costs. I will drive bigger vehicles as I always have.

Sorry for the hijack...
Two words: **** drunk drivers until they bleed out their *******s and can't ever sit down again.

OH! don't even get me started on drunk drivers. They should be charged with 1st degree murder/attempted murder. This was the second time. Almost 8 years to the day Dec. 04'. Hug those close to you everyday...you never know.
Today is the 3 year anniversary of my best friends death in a drunk driving crash. The guy driving got off with no time either. I miss her every day...
