Power door lock not working?
The good the bad and the ugly
First yes they are a motor not just an elector magnet all four on my crew 90.
Yes 2 have failed.
Yes they are popped into a u bracket but some u brackets are plastic and some are steel. You can spread the sides on the steel one to remove the motor but on the plastic ones they tend to break.
If you just drill the one rivet and remove the wire plug and pop out the far end of the acutator arm the whole unit pops right out.
The trick reinstall is a crushable nut (in the bracket)so that you can use a screw and blue locktite instead of a rivit for reinstall.
The ford price is ugly but there is an easy way around that.
The base of the acutator rod has spiral groves so that when the motor spins the cup with three tins ***** they run in groves and move rod up or down.
There is a sprinr clip over the cup so carefully pry off the clip and the rod and 3 ***** fall out.
Now find any Lincon or other ford product at salvvage yard as the motors are all the same just the rods are different. Pop off its spring clip and add your rod 3 of the riny ***** and replace the spring clip. Now you have a $5 fix from the salvage yard.

Cool, ideas. Thanks, but I'm back in action already buying the NEW motor for $60. Not bad, considering Ford would of nailed me for over $200 parts and labor.
