hi folks... I've got a '08 F250 XLT that the cruise control has become intermittent. It works most of the time but at times it will "go out to lunch" and not do anything. I've taken the controls from the wheel and didn't see any gummed up coke spills or anything there. It may not be anything but twice when it failed while on a trip I pulled over and shut the truck down. Started it up and the cruise would go back to working. Once I did this and it went back to working only to shut off in about 2 seconds but I was able to engage it again and it kept working. When it stops working there is no green indicator on the dash either. Also I searched but didn't see anything pertaining to my truck sorry if I missed anything.
I hang out in 6.4L Diesel section a lot and I've been seeing threads related to this very problem. The usual culprit seems to be the brake pressure sensor. Located on the (bottom? of) master brake cylinder. The front one of two sensors.
senix, I picked up a switch today but i'm wondering if I need to change this adapter looking harness that comes with it or can I just change the switch. you got any idea?
ok...got it done. checked with the dealer and they wanted 61 bucks for the switch and autozone wanted 21 bucks. I'm a big fan of oem parts but for a 1/3 of the price I was willing to take my chances. at least it should tell me if i'm on the right tract. the dealer just had the switch and autozone had the switch plus a wire tie and a short 6" harness that may have been a fuesable link of some sort. I read somewhere that the poster said not to use the link and the switch looked just like the original so I only replaced the switch. so far all is good ! thanks for the help!!
