hello, my transmission acted up last night. it has been having flair 3-5 shifts for a while. this summer I bought a modified shift solenoid from Empire Diesel performance, I installed it and ran it for 3 days. It shifted firm and felt like it had given my truck back decent shifts the first day then the second and third day it went back into its old ways of flair shifting, but really hard shifts back and fourth from 3-5 until finally going into 5 gear. it did it a few times feeling like it was destroying my trans in the process. so I sent the solenoid back, got my refund minus a 20% restocking fee for a crappy product and installed my old solenoid.
so back to square one, ive been running on my stock solenoid for about 2 1/2 months now with a flair shift every once and a while. I've been trying to get my tunes rewritten from php since August for my 155/30 injectors, I installed this summer. I finally got my tunes rewritten decent enough but my transmission is acting out a lot more then it was before throwing trans codes and putting my truck into safe mode last night. so I pulled the codes off of it and this is what I have got.
I talked to PHP about my shifting problems and injector problems for a while and im getting frustrated with my truck acting up, so I was thinking I should do this- buy a new shift solenoid D from ford install it and possibly get the newest update flashed on my truck. im not looking forward to doing either. I just don't know where to go about my transmission. besides going the expensive route getting a new or aftermarket transmission. I believe it is either in the programing or maybe a sensor going out.
2003 6.0 crew cab short bed, 285/75 R16 tires, wicked wheel 2, 155/30 injectors, fs2500 by pass oil filter, coolant filter, fuel pressure guage, edge monitor, PHP FICM tuner, PHP ECM/TCM roll back September 2013, php 65 tow tune, K&N stage 2 air filer.
any input on this would be appreciated. thanks, justin
Concerning the transmission, when was the last fluid and external filter change? It needs to be changed every 30k miles. And for the transmission to operate correctly the engine has to be running good with no power issues.
Intermittent problems are bad enough but intermittent trans problems would be a double whammy for me. May take a day or two for the right person to run across this thread.
