Door chime

I just replaced my ignition lock on my '01 F250. Now my door chime is chiming wether the key is in or not. If the door opens it chimes. Any ideas how to fix it?

It sounds like maybe when you replaced the ignition lock, your truck now always thinks the key is in it.

my 05 f250 does the same thing and it still has factory switch.

I searched and found some old posts. Seems pretty common over time. I think I'll find the wire and disconnect it.

Clip the purple/black wire under the cylinder.

It was for my F250. Might have been black/purple.

The one for the door is different. You'd have to either pull the door panel for access or find the right wire at the GEM.
