I am building a mud toy and want the least amount of electronic part I can get away with. The motor is a carborated 302 and a c6 transmission behind it. I have done away with the wiring harness for the old motor ( fuel injected 302) and just want to rewire the truck for simple items. (headlights windshield wiper and such.)
My main question is if I can terminate the plug in the top side of the transmission? And will it interfere with basic transmission function such as reverse and shifting while in drive?
I'm not concerned with having reverse lights or speedometer as the truck will be trailered everywhere I go.
Thanks, all information is welcomed..I am kind of learning this as I go.
Thank you for pointing that out! I assumed it was a c6 only because a friend of mine told me so... but after reading your comment and doing some research I now believe it is a AOD. (It has 4 wires coming out of a circular plug on the drivers side of the transmission right above the shift linkage.) Soo my question still remains if I choose to terminate the plug will I interfere with any basic transmission functions?
get a C6 to have on standby because in stock form the AOD isn't typically a trans to hold up to heavy abuse. if nothing else have a large cooler installed and if your running large tires don't use OD unless the diffs have been regeared to compensate.
