Noticed quiet a bit of oil in my engine valley today and traced it down to a wet flange on the hpop... I'm sure it is the original pump. I'm trying to decide now, if I just pull it and seal it, or replace it. The truck seems to run fine even though when checked last with auto enginuity, the pressure was on the lower end of the tolerance..
If I replace, anybody got a good source for an inexpensive one?
Also stupid question: do I need to pull the waterpump to get to the front bolt?
I'm also thinking of pulling the reservoir and replace the seal.. Just as a precaution... If it's recommended
Btw, when I checked last I believe I had somewhere around 2400 to 2500 psi at wot.
Considering the cost of a pump I'm realy thinking of just new seals... ?
A T500 from terminator engineering is a nice upgrade. Very reliable and at a good price. My opinion would be to just replace it. Esspecialy if you are planning for upgrades down the road.
T500 is close to 500.- when I looked.. Unless I looked wrong though... I did checked today again after driving home and am no pretty certain , the main pump gasket is leaking.. Does the ford stealer have this?

Have which. They should have both the gasket and the hpop. By main pump are you referring to the lpop or hpop. The terminator is probably the best bang for your buck. Even the remans are around 550 iirc. If your talking about the lpop then yea there are options there to but it is not an easy task.
I was talking about the main gasket ( front gasket) on the hpop pump.
Considering all the other work I have to do, ie brakes and both tanks, I think I might wait on the pump and replace just the gasket... Unless I find a good super duty pump.. I read somewhere they are better than the old stock pumps.

I don't know where the cutoff date on that is. I think the 94-95 you can't and the 96-97 can. But don't quote me on that. There is a check valve in the hpop on the earlier ones. The later ones have the check valve in the block.
When I first got my truck my hop gasket was leaking.
The rubber oring like seal part was all splitting all the way around.
I replaced it and it has been great for two years.
