Does anyone know if you can purchase the seal on the backside of the HPOP the one held in by the C ring? The stealership is telling me I have to buy a whole new pump because they don't repair pumps and "you can't buy that seal"...... I haven't had time to search for it I was just hoping someone here had the info or replaced it before. I'm getting very frustrated with the dealer trying to gouge me.
Ok found a page on here with the TSB 03-21-21 stating that the dealerships are not supposed to be replacing HPOPs for oil leaks so I printed it out and am going to stealership to show them, get my keys and lay a patch out their maintenance bay and get the seal and do it myself. What a crooked bunch of thieves.
order the fuel drain valve o-rings also, while you are at it. takes 10-15 minutes to change out and are easy and cheap to do. The new fuels are hard on the original seals and will develope a leak that goes down the tube or into the valley.
Just an update after I got home from the stealership. I walked into the maintenance bay and picked up my HPOP that the technician removed, turned it over and immediately saw a broken gasket coming out of one of the check bolts. I turned to the shop foreman and said what's that look like? He said looks like a broken gasket to me. I asked if they still thought that I needed a new HPOP and he said probly not. Then I handed him the TSB from Ford Motor Company and asked him to read it. I remained very respectable and I think that he got my drift after I got my phone out and started taking pics of the gasket.
They wouldn't let me go to the parts counter get the gasket kit and put my truck back together with their tools so I'm waiting until tomorrow to find out what the verdict is monetarily. I expressed very adamantly that I wanted all the gaskets to be replaced and the gaskets that go to the Fuel filter they were worn really bad too.
I wish I had taken the time to ask yall about it first and done it myself but I just got back from a tour in Korea and spending time with the family was more important to me. Thanks for all the help guys I can't stress enough that the knowledge that comes from yall helps people every day and saves the ordinary truck owners an inconceivable amount of money on an ongoing basis. Keep it up I just wanted to tell you how much it is appreciated.

Glad you posted this update.
When I read your opening post I was going to jump in and say that a leak at the rear plate is very, very rare. It is usually a leak somewhere else on the HPOP but some oil will usually collect on the rear plate. Seeing oil on the rear plate the asumption is that the rear plate is leaking. Even these mechanics made that assumption and didn't even see the torn o-ring. If it is the so called "non-serviceable plug" I hope they use the International kit with the upgraded (longer threaded) plug and that they know about, and they how to properly apply 680 loctite on any fitting they replace on the HPOP.
EDIT: Of course if these guys had half a brain they would order the "Non-Serviceable Plug" repair kit,all the HPOP o-rings & gaskets, fuel bowl reseal kit and drain valve o-rings from Dieselorings.com HI Bob
Good luck. I hope they don't bend you over too far.
OK Robin, what's wrong with with my plug kit? It's halve the price of International's, made of 303 Stainless instead of soft steel .... and BTW, it's LocTite 680 ... LOL

I praise your products, you know that, but his truck is at the dealer and I doubt they would order from you because they aren't that smart, and that is no laughing matter.
