My pump seal went on my 92 f350 with a 351. I got the transmission pulled and figured I would upgrade the pump while I was there... Come to find out after I unbolted the pump and started prying on it and spinning it a little bit trying to get it out that I need two slide hammers to get it out. As far as I know the pump is still fine would my little bit of prying and wiggling have messed up anything or can I just replace the seal and bolt it back on and go? Not looking to put to much money in this transmission going to do a diesel swap in the future but want to keep driving it. I would really rather put the 150 towards a trans cooler not a new pump anyway.
if the pump didn't come out, then just put the bolts back in.tap in a new seal and put it back in.with the old seal out, inspect the bushing is flush and didn't walk forward.
The seal itself. i was using a pick on the inner part of the seal but then it breaks instead of popping out. I was trying to avoid marring the pump to seal surface.

You'll never get it out that way. Have to get under the metal lip and pry it out like said above.
