thinking of getting a new set of injectors for my 01 f350 with 155k miles on it and was wondering if i should replace the injector cups also? i have no issues with them right now.
Depends. Would you rather do it now and give yourself the peace of mind, or save the money/time for now while taking the chance that they may leak in the next 50-100k miles? There is no better time to replace them, but at the same time, if it ain't broke do you really want to fix it?
Injectors are a few hours, cups are a few days. If I didn't have to do them, I wouldn't. It's no big deal to go back in, compared to what's involved with that project - and the potential to go back in for a failed seal.
If the heads were off and sitting on the bench (like mine are), I'd do it. If they're fine, I wouldn't change them just because I was swapping injectors.
I changed my injectors at 300k and didn't touch the cups because there was nothing wrong with them. Sitting a little North of 490k now. Still running the factory cups.
