Injectors

Quick one for you all. I just replaced the # 3 injector on my 97 f350 psd. It has 267000 km's on it. The ford dealer said it was normal to change out only the one bad one. They also suggested I change all the injector seals while it was there. I didn't think I should pull all the rest of them out, change seals and stick the same old injectors back in. Dont fix what ain't broke. I figure if I lose another injector in the next while I will bite the bullet and replace them all. Did I do the right thing by not changing all the seals while it was there. I'm new to this diesel stuff and the last thing I want to do is the wrong things. Thanks for any info.

I would have replaced the seals, that a inexpesive service if your already in there, with 15 years experience driving big rigs and owning them, I've never replaced injectors in sets, only as there need. Thnx DW

Injectors

I generally go with the theory that if one is bad, the others are probably close to failure too. When I blew the O-rings on one injector, I replaced the other seven as preventive maintenance. It's kinda the same idea as replacing both headlights, once one burns out. The other one has been burning just as long, and will likely fail soon, so while the tools are out.....
