83... would that happen to have a dana axle? I hope not, if it is the drums are inboard... have fun with that. Sounds like you have a bad master and /or a leak. Brake light being on could mean a low vacuum signal, which sounds unlikely from what you described, so most likely means that the ABS deal is fubar or thinks it is. Have you tried bleeding just to see what happens?

ya im headed up ****e creek, stopped for the night but making a list of parts for the morning. Anyone have suggestions on the type of fluid to use in the rear diff? Additives?
