7.3IDI electronics

Hey Everyone, i have a 1988 f350 with a 92 idi 7.3, the engine is nearing the end of its life and i am looking into getting another 7.3 but with more power and turbocharged, i am wondering if the electronics in my truck would be compatable with a slightly newer direct injection 7.3, a friend of mine has a 1999 that he is selling and i will seriously consider that engine if it will work. Thanks!

It can be done... but what a waste of time an effort to get the same thing you can get out of your current engine. What makes you think its "nearing the end of its life" ?
