can someone please tell me how to remove the speedo cable from the transmission end , it is a 95 f150 4.9 with a zf 5-speed
any help would be greatly appreciated
I'm pretty sure there is no speedo cable on '95s. They use an electronic speedo that gets it's signal from the tone ring for the rear ABS brakes in the rear axle.
I can't say for sure, but I think that is your clutch hydraulic line. Is it fairly close to the engine? Are you trying to remove the transmission to replace the clutch or parts of the clutch or work on the transmission?
yes I bought the clutch kit and throw-out bearing/slave cylinder, lost my clutch earlier today, is there a special tool I need to remove the hydraulic line?
They do make a special tool for this. The Haynes manual says you can take a screwdriver and push in the right place and pull on the line and this works sometimes. It worked twice for me on my '88 F-150 with the Mazda transmission.

correct. a 95 should have an electronic speedometer driven off the VSS in the rear differential.
That is the jydralic line for the clutch. There is a ring on the connection that you push in towards the trans to release it, no tools required. Sometimes they stick.
Good quality clutch kit will include the line release tool (much easier with it) as well as a clutch alignment tool (both usually plastic but don't need be more than that), if not both readily available at most any auto parts just ask.
