pvc valve & hose

NumberDummy or JEFFFAFA

Could one of you verify that I have the correct part numbers for the pvc valve & pvc formed hose for a 1970 F250 390.

I have hose number C7TZ-6A664-B OR MOTORCRAFT D2TE-6853-ALA

PVC D0AZ-6A666-A MOTORCRAFT EV-50

Are these the correct parts?

I got the hose from Dennis Carpenter and the valve from Green Sales. The hose fits too loosely over the PVC valve. The hose is the formed hose with one end flared to about 1/2" to fit the PVC valve. The hose matches my old one but the valve nipple is closer to 3/8". The valve fits the grommet in the valve cover.

D2TE-6853-ALA is not Motorcraft related, it's the Ford ID engineering number marked (stenciled) on the hose.

C8AZ-6A664-D .. PCV Hose - 1/2" I.D. tube end x 5/8" smog valve end - 20" long / Obsolete

360/390: 1968/70 F100/350 & some 1971 F100/350 // 1968/71 Galaxie/LTD/Fairlane/Torino 390.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 2 = 800-476-9653.

COLLECTORS AUTO SUPPLY in Oroville WA has 4 = 800-414-4462.

Carpenters application for the C7TZ-6A664-B hose is 1967 F100/350 352 & 1968/71 F100/350 360/390, but this is wrong.

FoMoCo sez: 1967/78 330 2V M/D - 330 2V H/D - 361 2V - 391 4V FT engines.

I have this grommet: C7AZ-6A892-A

Dennis Carpenter list C7TZ-6A664-B for 1967-1971 so I bought it last week. They didn't list a PCV valve for 1970 model so I called Green Sales and they sent me D0AZ-6A666-A.

The only PCV valve Carpenter show on their website is D8TZ-6A666-A and they say it's for a 1974-1978.

Now I have a hose that looks correct and a valve that looks correct but the nipple for the hose is too small.

My engine could be from a later year. I've never checked the casting numbers.

The valve is correct. The grommet...if the valve covers have Powered by Ford embossed on them...is also correct. These covers were introduced in 1967, used thru 1976.

1965/66's use different valve covers, which are plain, use a different grommet (377394-S - obsolete-Green Sales has some).

The hose is wrong, despite what Carpenter claims (see added info in post 2). It's a reproduction, probably made in Asia.

Thanks. It has the "Powered by Ford" logo on the valve covers. I'll give Carpenter a call about the hose.

One thing that troubles me is that the valve looks to fit a 3/8" hose not a 1/2" hose. The old tin valve I removed is for a 1/2" hose. The old brittle hose I removed matches the new one that Carpenter sent me.

Thanks again for your help. I'll get it straight with Carpenter.

Green Sales show the same hose you looked up. The trouble is the valve you both show doesn't have a 5/8" nipple, it's much smaller. So if you cut off the 5/8" flared end it will fit on the valve.

D.C. is checking to see if the only valve (D8TZ-6A666-A) they have actually fits the hose (C7TZ-6A664-B) they sell.

Green Sales does not have the hose I looked up. If they did, I would have said so.

Type C8AZ6A664D (no hyphens) into Green Sales' website: "Sorry we don't stock this item at this time."

I don't use Green's website as they're also listed on PartsVoice.com and rearcounter.com, the two obsolete parts search sites available to the general public. 100's of other sources are also listed.

D0AZ-6A666-A (replaced C5AZ-6A666-A & C6AZ-6A666-A) .. Smog Valve (Motorcraft EV-50) / Obsolete - 100's available NOS

1965/72 352/360/390 F100/350 / 1965 427 Passenger Cars / 1965/68 289 Passenger Cars & 1966/68 Bronco / 1965/71 352/390/410/428 Passenger Cars / 1968/72 302 Passenger Cars (except 1969/71 Boss 302).

1969/72 302 Bronco/Econoline / 1969/72 351W Passenger Cars / 1970/72 351C Passenger Cars / 1971/72 400 Passenger Cars.

I passed out 1000's of this valve over the years to mechanics, I don't recall anyone ever complaining it didn't fit.

Did this valve you bought from Green come in a Ford box?

It came in a Motorcraft box. I found the problem. The flared end, 5/8", fits the nipple on the back of the old heated carb space. The smaller end fits the valve. I removed my heated spacer long ago. I cut off the flared end and the smaller diameter fits the nipple on my Holley carb. Not quite the right parts but it works.

I'm sorry for the confusion but really appreciate the help. At least I know now I have the correct valve.
