Is there a way to disable this button? I somehow keep pressing it and setting off the alarm. Sometimes it gets pressed while the keys are in my pocket and lately several times when I have the keys in my hand and climbing in my truck. Right in front of the Post Office today. Maybe mine is "touchy" or something but I can live without it. Honestly, if I ever felt threatened around my truck I would be reaching for my 1911, not pressing this button.
take the remote apart like you are changing the battery and either remove the red panic button or unsolder the switch that sits under the red button.
That was my next move unless there was a way to deprogram it. The red button is part of the tactile face plate so it would have to be done on the inside.
I've had the same problem with the "Red Button". It would be nice if this feature could be disabled in the "Settings" menu. I opened up my key to check out the possibility of modifying the switch. On my key the circuit board is sealed inside. No easy access. How about applying an epoxy to the outside of the button to make it less sensitive. Please let us know if you find a good solution.
