Really need help with alarm!!!
I really need to find out how to turn off the alarm on a 1997 F150 before my stupid father breaks his foot kicking the truck. :\ He says it has to be towed in, but I have a feeling this is something we should be able to do ourselves.
The story...we bought it used a year ago and today my father finally figured out he had an alarm system on it. How we found out is that he disconnected the battery to clean the terminals and when he hooked it back up the alarm came on and it won't SHUT UP. And the truck won't start either.
Please help! We are at lost at what to do.
He is wanting to borrow my mom's little Toyota and pile heavy equipment on it...ahh!

Yea it is annoying sound!!!
Well i hope i can help,look under the the dash on the drivers side of truck they usually put a toggle switch or a little push button valet switch there.If there is 1 there connect battery let it alarm ring go inside truck turn key to like you are going to start truck up and go under dash now and flick switch or push the button 1 time.You didnt get a remote for the alarm when you got the truck?Let me know how you make out!!!

Thanks for the suggestion. We looked but we didn't find either a button or a toggle under there.
My father didn't even know it came with a keyless entry remote when he bought the thing, so it dosen't have one. I had wished he thought to ask about it when he first bought.

The same thing happened when my parents bought 96 windstar, it had a alarm (aftermarket), but we did not find out until we had to disconnect the battery, and like you said as soon as you put the batt back connected, the alarm went off. But we found the valat button on the driver kick panel. To get a button we took it to a local car auido/alarm place and they were able to order and progremm a button.
