limp mode - where to check for wire harness problems
Find the proof I am wrong. You are the one trying to discredit my claim because of a user name. The maturity level is astonishing. I just repaired the same issue on a truck I have been fighting with. Which is exactly why I referred to manufacturer schematics. 25+ yrs ASE Master Tech. Get your weight up son son.

Troll, there are NO transmission control leads involved with a stop lamp circuit on these trucks. No relationship at all.
For an ASE, why would you even think there would be especially if you had worked on these truck long enough.
The drawings your looking at have to be the wrong ones for these trucks.
The harness for the trans, Evap system and Ox sensors come down the passenger side of the motor to the trans and back to the fuel tank area.
Nothing has to be proven because its always been that way from 1997 on.
Good luck..

BTW, last time I checked, 40 years beats 25... Do the math.

If fuse 23 is not blown there is an open in the circuit after the fuse.
Use a voltmeter to make the checks and find out at what point power becomes missing.
There is a plug up near the PCM, a plug at the transmission etc.
Most of the codes are from the circuits under the truck all fed by this harness.
Good luck.

A blown fuse #23 creates a major malfunction.
A blinking OD light is a transmission electrical malfunction indication with a code.
Have to code read and do the repair indicated by the code..
>>Example only<<. A code P1767 tells that the Torque converter clutch circuit is in fault. This is not an engine code but is read from the same connector under the dash.
Good luck.

Thanks Bluegrass
I took it to one mechanic he scanned it and said the transmission was no good. I didn’t trust him so I paid $280 to get it towed about 1 1/2 hours away to a mechanic I trusted. He checked it on and off for a couple of days and finally he found something small inside the transmission ( I’ll ask him the name of the part ) that was causing all those 8 codes.
