You didnt pick a very good fuse to have a problem with
The #24 fuse protects the power circuit to almost every engine control sensor, the fuel pump relay, injectors etc.
I would probably start by checking the wiring harness that goes down the back of the engine to the transmission and see if it's rubbed through anywhere. Also take a look at the main harness on the outside of the frame behind the driver's front wheel.
Maybe HomerWinzlow or one of the other Ford techs here has seen this problem before.
I agree Racerguy, the harness that goes behind the transmission to the 02 sensors and transmission range sensor often ends up laying down on the exhaust and burning on the passenger side exhaust manifold area. Ive repaired quite a few over the years for blowing maxi fuses.
Thanks Guys! I owe ya'll a cold one! My wiring harness was struck to my exhaust manifold and had burnt a couple of wires causing a few bare spots on the wires. Thanks again for the help. j2
