No have not seen it done, because even after you swap on a awesome looking 73-79 front clip, you will still have the life less plain Jane boring bed line....
They call it a "bullnose", that term did not help is either, a 80's and up, is still fugly IMO. lol
Maybe a dress up with a tube grill and push guard would help..probably not, but worth a try.
1980 and later is totally different. If it was possible (which I doubt) to install a front clip from a 1973/79, it wouldn't line up properly and would look horribly out of place.
The 'bull nose' moniker only applies to FTE, cuz that's what the members of the 1980/86 forum call it.
I never liked the looks of the front end of these 1980/86 trucks, to me and others when we first looked at them (at Crenshaw Motors in L/A), reminded us of 1977 Couriers.
Both have a stubby front end with slanted headlamp doors.
Plus the most objectionable thing about every 80-86 I ever drove was that you cannot read the gauges at night. Maybe they only test drove them in the daylight???
