grille swap?

grille swap?
i have always liked the look of the all metal grills on the 67-72 trucks. my question is would the grill bolt on to a 73-79? they look the same. is there something i am missing? i hate the plastic one on my 75 it just cracks.

They would probably bolt in, but I''m not sure how they would look. I think I read somewhere once that that newer trucks were a little wider (like an 1/8"). Also, I'm not sure how it would work where the hood of the newer models sorta comes down on the grille. Our models dont.

The curve of the front edge of the fender is different, the 67-72 has a much deeper "dish" and tighter curve to it. I have seen a 67-72 that somebody put a 78-79 grill on, and it looked bad. None of the lines on the side lined up.
