6.0 / Ford Part Cross Reference Question?
9C24-9G282-AB is the OEM part number I understand the code somewhat.
Prefix = (9C24) 9 = 2009 C2 = Econoline 4 = Design Responsibility of Vehicle Center 4.
Middle = (9G282) is the general part type, once you ignore the letter it falls into Fuel Pump 9000-9500. I believe that with the letter is more specific to the actual vehicles that can use it? But not completely specific for that the suffix information is needed.?
Suffix = The AB is the times the item has been modified since the original design with the original being A. AS far as I understand you can put on newer versions just not older versions. So if a vehicle took the A suffix part it could use this AB suffix part. However if a vehicle used the AC version which is newer than my AB version it is not compatible?
What I think I understand but want to fully understand and make sure for the cross reference is this fuel pump was used for many vehicles E series and F series and more. For cross reference, would I just drop the prefix and go off the last two sections middle and suffix? So any vehicle that has 9G282-A through 9G282-AB would be able to use this fuel pump?

But like I said want to know if all that matters for cross reference is the middle and suffix.
