On fuel, why dont they ever place the type of fuel on the pumps like they do with gas??? I have never seen a diesel pump list if it is 1d or 2d. Ask the attendant and see what type of answer you get.

I honestly couldn't tell you why it's not listed for you, around here (Missouri), there are number 1 pumps and number 2 pumps. Only reason I can think of is if they have number 2 wrote on their big sign and that's all they sell???

Here in Michigan I have never seen a station show any kind of marking. On the big sign showing price or on the pump.

I asked the guy at the counter last nite if they had winter blend yet. His reply "we only have deisel"
I then asked him where the tanks were " I don't know" I then showed him where the tanks were at.

I fuel at truck stops where the "big boys" fuel and I don't worry about whether it is "winter grade" or "summer grade" fuel. I stay away from the "mom & pop" stations because they don't have enough turnover to keep the fuel water-free. If "truck stop fuel" is good enough for the commercial trucks, it is not going to hurt my truck.
