I'm really starting to like the new truck, but I'm struggling with the logic on some of the sync functionality and can't believe some of this stuff made it through several years of fine tuning.
Are there any tricks to make the Sync system get to USB or Bluetooth quicker? It is amazing to me that there is not a setting where you can set the default to whichever source you use the most. Running errands where I am in and out of the truck it is annoying having to wait for the bluetooth to connect upon startup, push the talk button, tell it bluetooth audio, verify "yes, correct" about 1/4 of the time, and then restarting the music. Granted I'm not any busier than the average guy, but this screwing around could all be avoided. As an example, why not give the option for the Sirius button to take you straight to Bluetooth or USB if you do not subscribe to the service?
It would be nice if music would continue through blue tooth when you re enter the truck. My wife's car does that, but not my truck. As for USB, i leave my ipod in all the time. If i leave it on usb it stays on usb. I press the aux button to get back to usb if needed.
When I renter my truck and have have my phone on bluetooth playing music it automatically picks up where it left off playing through bluetooth. I didn't have to do anything special to make it that way...in my mind I was surprised that it worked that way. I have the MyFordTouch in my truck.
My phone also connects really quickly when I enter the vehicle. Have you updated your sync?
Why not make some of these things options? Given the complexity of the sync system, it seems that adding some user settings for customization (particularly if the code is written) would go a long way in enhancing the experience. As an example the aux button could be customized to go to your input of choice...bluetooth,sub, etc.
I have a '13 FX4 with the MyFordTouch and the last source is always the current source when starting the truck up (assuming it's still there). If I have my phone playing music when I shut it off, it will pick up again when I start the truck next time.
My '14 STX company truck has the base radio with Microsoft Sync and it will default to the last category (FM, Sirius, Aux), but within the Aux category it will always default to line-in when I only ever use Bluetooth. It's one of the annoying things about the difference in my two trucks (along with the different operation of the headlight stalk and moving the buttons around for cruise control on the steering wheel).
I have updated my MyFordTouch to the latest version...and it picks up where it left off. If it is plugged in to USB it plays again from there (assuming you plugged it in to USB) and if it is connected to bluetooth it starts right away playing from bluetooth. People complaining it drains their battery it plain stupid...you can just plug it in to charge it while you are in the vehicle!!
Both my '09 F150 and the '10 Mustang will resume with bluetooth when I get back in, and I want it to. I've found usually when they don't the issue is with the phone either not connecting the media part of the bluetooth or not connecting at all.
