SYNC 3 questions/issues

Folks,

Have been trying to figure out a couple of things with the SYNC 3 system (v2.2). I've tinkered, searched the web, read the manual, still not finding what I'm looking for...

  • Volume - When using the Phone (iPhone 7), I like to have the volume at level 20, which seems to be just perfect when I'm talking on the phone on the interstate. Each time I answer or dial the phone, the volume level is re-set to a lower level. Does the volume setting not stay at the last used setting for the phone?
  • iPod - I still use a 160GB iPod for my music. First time I started it up, it worked great. Ever since I updated the music on the iPod, though, the Sync system acts as if it has not properly re-indexed the device. The most significant issue I observe is that selecting a playlist on the iPod actually ends up playing a completely different playlist. Playing it through the iPod works properly. I've disconnected and re-set the iPod a few times (including re-syncing and restoring the iPod), with no change. I haven't yet completely reset the Sync system but that's next on my list.
  • Phone - My iPhone has a very convenient "favorite" contact list. I store 10 of my most frequently called numbers in that list. Is there any way to access that list, or set a similar one, through Sync? I'm not yet familiar with the voice commands and it takes an average of 4-5 questions to make a call (probably the way my phone book is set up), so I'd prefer an easier way to get to my commonly called numbers.
  • Settings - Yesterday morning I reset all of my sound settings (bass/mid/treble). About 10 minutes later I realized that the old settings had "come back". First, surprised to see them change on their own (yes, I'm confident I changed them). Second, I'm under the impression that the same audio settings apply to each of the sources and that you can't EQ FM differently than CD, for example, correct?
Thanks in advance for any advice on these questions and issues.

I experienced similar issues with the iPod. I love my iPod. It is just not the best way to serve files to the Sync 3 system.

I got a 128GB USB drive, copied my music files on to the drive, and it works like a champ. The key is to have good meta tags on your files. Sync 3 will use these to index the music by artist, album, genre, etc. No need to organize music into folders. You can create .m3u playlists and save them to the drive as well.
