Rough Idle

I'm getting a little miss at idle on my 7.3 and at times when driving will give me 2 shots of sputter and return to normal.My mechanic has checked all he could,he is at a loss,checked wiring,took valve covers off,checked injectors,scanner gives him nothing.Only thing I had done on it was a cam sensor couple of weeks back when it didn't want to start.Not looking for it to die on road and winter is around corner.All ideas are welcome---thanks

Where did you get the CPS?

First, check your oil level, make sure you're not low. Our trucks use the oil to fire the injectors. If you're on the verge of too low, could be causing your problem. Have you changed the fuel filter lately?
