Hey guys I have a 95 superduty I just recently swapped a boneyard engine into the engine drives out great plenty of power no smoke whatsoever but the problem I'm having is when the engine gets up to temp it starts to idle real rough shakes the truck abit even its kinda like a camed engine would idle only does this when warmed up when the engine is cold it idles flawlessly I've already changed out the cps and icp planning to swap out the ipr next in an atempt to remedy the idle one thing I did notice that may or maynot be related is when i installed the engine and changed the fuel filter there was oil mixed with the fuel in the fuel bowl so I'm thinking this truck may also need injector o-rings anyone have any ideas I may have missed???
my trucks doin the same think, im leaning toward the ipr. i think its stickem and thats whats causein it to have that rough idle. let me know if it fixes it man.
well I've swapped in a new ipr with new o-rings still acting up when warm I'm going to change out the injectors and o-rings next I figure atleast I don't have to worry about a cps icp or ipr sensor problems for a while
IPR o rings ,my bet ,,a cheap test ,, injector o rings next if not .....Stay away from oil additives ,,a good brand of oil is sufficient ...
I also have quite a bit of lope at Idle, even after warm up... even more so perhaps. So, I'm going to start with the IPR valve seal kit, I've found this one online:
Thanks for the part number.
I just called the dealer in Belgrade, and they sell the kit for $17.99. He's shipping it to me in Helena for another $5. So, it saved me a few bucks and I supported my local dealer
When Mine was ready to crap out , the truck smoked like a freight train at start up ...eventually ,, the IPR stuck (open ) left a no start....
Hmmm... what color smoke? I've noticed I end up with a decent amount of white smoke at start up. I just kinda figured it was normal. The truck does have 189K miles, and I'd wager that the IPR has never been replaced.
mine smoked so bad I was afraid someone would call the fire dept ...
IPR from ford is spendy (300.00),,,Ebay usually has them 150.00 or so ..wouldn't hurt to have a spare ...BTW , my truck has 177 on the clock ...(title said 199)
