4.9L Alternator Mounting
I need to know 3 bolt sizes;
There is a bolt (or stud?) that attached the alternator 'adjusting' arm to the block, via a hole in the timing cover. I thought this was the same 5/16 that the other bolts are, but it does not appear to be. (or perhaps I need to chase the threads). In any case, I need to verify that bolt size
I also need the long bolt that attached the alternator to the bracket (the one on the engine block) as well as the bolt that secures the alternator to the adjusting arm.
I need to get the alternator in place, as it not only charges the battery and such, but also provides the tension on the water pump belt.
This is a pic from the engine, before the rebuild that shows the area I am talking about (the adjusting arm bolt through the timing cover)
(I'm still waiting on my MPC..)
Are you keeping the smog pump?

Once I get ready to swap engines, I can pull parts from the old one as needed but I'm getting this engine setup on the test stand, so I need the 'new' parts.
I'm just using a cheap alternator on the test stand; it's a single belt drive as opposed to mine that is dual belt. Again; just the basics to let it run on the stand.
