alternator mounting

Have a 1986 F-250 with the 7.5 engine...the alternator is mounted towards the bottom of the engine on the passenger side...it looks a little hoakie the way its mounted and yesterday it broke a bolt off in the waterpump. I have power steering and A/C and thats it meaning no air pump or anything else...

but the mount at the top of the alternator has a long bolt and a couple of spacers that bolt into the block...it just dont look right to me. does any one have any ideas or a picture of what theirs looks like.

Thanks

Someone must have taken the air pump(s) (some 460's had two) and rigged the mounting for the alternator. The picture below shows the alternator bracket. You can see where the smog pumps mounted above it.

Take a picture of your setup. We can probably figure out how to make a bracket that will work.
