Is it possible?

Beautiful day yesterday for a late season cruise. As my speedometer doesn't work I use a hand held gps to track miles and speed. On a nice open stretch it said I was doing 58 mph! This is a almost stock '50 F3, with a 226. The only thing not stock is the Pertronix I installed this spring. Truck feels like it could run all day at 45, but I was surprised at the 58. Guess I'm not sure how accurate the gps is.

My speedo doesn't work either, the cable keeps getting fouled up, and on long rides I use a GPS. Normally my F-2, same set up as yours without the updated ignition, travels at around 50-55, any faster it starts to complain. While down in Bloomington for Truckfest '13, while cruising down Route 66 I looked down at the GPS and the truck was doing an easy 65 without a complain. I was totally surprised. I guess the road was straight, flat and smooth enough that it didn't take much work for it to get up to speed. So yes, it is possible.
