Well I might add that I got my smog last week. I took it to another guy and he didn't say anything about the International Harvester sticker on the valve cover, or the two unused connectors. He didn't even wing the throttle to look for smoke.
I did have my documentation on the unused connectors just in case, and I'll file this away if the issue ever comes up.
I do agree that the smog inspector should know more about the vehicle that the owner when it comes to the inspection. After all, not everybody is a car or truck enthusiast.
The first two shops that failed me did not charge a penny. So all I lost was a bit of time. They were in the wrong, but since when is life fair, anyway? In the end I got it done and escaped the thumb of the bureaucrat for another two years. I got bigger dragons to fight, to be sure.
I put my Sinister Diesel coolant filter system up for sale in the Classifieds section if anybody is interested. It is in "as new" condition.
Why are you selling the filter ,Don't let Cali push like that It has nothing to do with Emissions, my Tech thought it was the best thing since Toilet paper and he drives a Rabbit Oh and glad you goter smogged
You know I think that the two other places may
be a large part of the reason that they send out
the spot check (spies). Too many cars/truck to
check and not enough real mechanics that know
what they are doing when it comes to something
more complicated then putting gas/diesel in the tank.
Some of them can't even do that.
