Hey, I just did this on my 77 to get it started and seems to work. Just wire the blue/reds together and the black/whites together. If this is isn't the "proper" way, not sure what is but worked for me.
You can imagine my happiness when my new $700 Harness failed to turn on the solenoid. Wouldn't even click. Stopped at autozone, got my $103 neutral safety switch (That's with military discount) and installed yesterday. Took the old 4 prong off from the donor harness. Connected the two blue/reds, then the two black/reds, put into a new plug assembly and voila! Started right up!
Tonight, I finish plumbing in the tail lights/ gas sender/ license plate lights and tidy up the engine compartment. I will attach pics to tomorrow's post.
