Considering buying a set of used (30K miles )hypermax stage IIs. Just feeling this out first. The buyer said they might be 200cc, not sure what nozzle size. Anyone know much about them and who would tune them? Should I have them flow tested? I know hypermax has good injectors and doesn't say much about internals and buying used ones is risky.
I'm curious how much money you'll save when you factor in the shipping, flow testing, repairs/adjustments as needed, tuning, etc.... You can frequently get tuning included with the purchase of injectors.
Going with 200% nozzles requires monster mods to the truck (that 6637 is going bye-bye) and live tuning.
original plan was send my injectors to rosewood diesel and get them remanned into 238/80s...so that would be around $1650, and then get tunes from gearhead, so there wouldn't be any tuning savings there. If i buy the hypermax for $800, then maybe sell my cores...then that's not too much right there. I dunno how much it costs to flow test, and maybe $90 for orings?
i dunno about the nozzle size...but think they flow 200cc...i wouldn't get them if they are 200% nozzle size...i gotta figure out if it is possible to tune them well w/out live tuning.
I think the Hypermax stage 2 is actually equivalent to many competitors stage 3 injectors. Brian at BTS runs Hypermax stage 2s on his personal trucks with upgraded H2e turbo. I think he said about 500 hp set up. Calling Hypermax is good advice. Do some reading on Hypermax stage 2s, you may be getting a really good deal. If you send them out, I would send them back to hypermax.
