Is there any way to ID injectors without pulling them to get flow-tested?
I don't have all the info yet, but a F-350 came into a dealership, decently modded, dead ECU. New ECU, truck won't idle, romps, smokes. I think it has GTP-38R and Spearco IC. I haven't had a chance to look it over yet, but thinking it has big oil and injectors, unknown about any chips or not. I'm thinking about asking jody or tony to fill a chip with possible tunes with different injectors to see which one runs well enough to get it to our dyno to get live tuned, but figured I'd ask here to see if there's an easier route I haven't thought of.
Other option is to just go ahead and do new injectors anyways, but I'm sure the new owner doesn't want to eat the cost if it's already set...
IIRC, if they have been remanned there is no way to tell except to flow test them. Even with trying tuning you might not be able to tell because all injectors run a little different even if they are from the same builder. Flow testing isn't that bad and you could also have them gone through to make sure everything looks good.
Recommend a flow tester? I get my gas injectors cleaned and tested by cruizin for $16, but they don't do diesel injectors.
I'm thinking I can talk the new owner into a set of 530 Hybrids, live tune, and BTS tranny, and then if the existing ones are not stock they would go nicely in one of my trucks....

Clay is right, no way to tell what they flow if they have been modded without a flow bench. Any of the good injector builders (Swamps, Casserly, etc) could flow one for you.
