Hi y'all,
I need a new positive battery cable as mine has become corroded over the years. Where can I find a replacement that comes with the connector for the starter relay on it? I found a replacement motorcraft one on eBay but its for a '97-'98 F-250 and expedition with the V8 part #F75Z14300DA, but it looks IDENTICAL to mine for my '92 F-350 460. Will it fit?
Thanks,
Blaine
As long as the cable has the right ends on it and is of proper length and gauge of cable it will work. I would measure the length and note the ends and just purchase one locally. I believe 4 gauge is the preferred size of the cable. The smaller the number the heavier the cable. 2 gauge would probably be overkill, 6 gauge may be a little light.
I was hoping to find a nice Motorcraft replacement with the fancy connector for the starter relay. I have been through 2 relays and a new starter and I know its the cable causing it because its so corroded and causing a lot of resistance. any how the cable I bought on eBay has a return so if it doesn't work ill return it. Thanks!

The motorcraft ones are obsoleted from Ford I believe
They are, I just made my own. I just like the factory look. Oh well, like they say " if you want something done right, you got to do it yourself".
the ones that came on my truck were in pretty bad shape so I replace them with some cheap ones. They are corroded after only a year and a half. I'm going to buy some thick gauge wire and solder on terminals so that I know it's a quality job.
So did you reeive your battery cable yet? Is it what you expected/ hoped it would be?
Is the cable you need the one with the double connecter on the starter solinoid?
If it is, I need one too. I'm hoping what you bought is what Ineed, so ican buy one.
I bought mine at Oreilly. The one on ebay wasn't going to work, according to the seller which was a ford dealer. They said Ford discontinued the factory replacement. The one I got is a two lead. One to relay other to starter. It was like 45$. Took about 10 mins. Just ran new wire to starter. Old one was in loom so I just cut end off until it was in loom so I didn't have to fish it out.
you can also see the old wire in the loom to the left where I didn't want to fish it out of loom where solenoid to relay wire run, and I just razor knifed the factor rubber connector on relay in half so I didn't have to run a new wire there too.
Wow you replied just after I posted. I guess I should have hung around awhile.
I started looking around Ebay and Oreilly's website just after I posted. From what I see. the cable looks just like mine, so I don't see why it wouldn't work, did that seller give any reason what the difference is, why it wouldn't work?
I did see that there are 2 versions of the cable, 1 for 2wd and the other is for 4wd, altho from the pictures ididn't see a differnce between the 2.
