My fiance is having some problems with her 1993 Explorer. Basically it will start most of the times, but once in a while the relay will just click. I replaced the end on the positive battery cable (there was alot of corrosion), and that helped for a little bit, but the problem is back and more frequent. I went under the truck and noticed that the cable to the starter is also corroded and the sheething of the cable is also missing close to the terminal and the actual cable is exposed (green and corrodedand then some).
I would like to replace this cable, would anyone know what the length of it is? The one from the battery to the starter.
I'm going to pull the starter and replace the starter solenoid while I'm at it also.
I called NAPA and Part Source today, the length of the cable is 71" and has the pig tail that goes to the starter relay from the battery terminal. The cable cost me $13.99 CDN.
