Installed new isso-pro EV2 fuel pressure guage and reguardless if the engine is runnin or not it reads 55-60 psi even when the key off when the key is switched to on posision the needle will quickly go to 0 and then to 60 psi while driving @ hy-way speed the needle sits @ probably 57 psi does anyone
see this w/ guage like this one. Thanks in advance.
Where did you plumb it in? Normally when key is first turned on the pump will run for about 15 seconds then quit. You should ba able to see the press drop to zero at that point. I have glowshift so can't say if yours should drop to zero key off, power off or just stay at last known value.
AllaboutMPG Thanks for te reply the sending unit is in the test port post filter in the fuel bowl I contacted the place I purchased from and they said that this was normal w/ a stepper type guage. I was just wondering if anyone else w/ this guage would chime-in and say that this is normal.
The gauge stays at the last pressure reading when you shut off the truck and remains there until you start it again at which time it resets (sweeps back to zero then up to current pressure).
I have the same guage and it does the same thing.....turn the key on but dont start the truck and the pump will cycle and then you should see the pressure drop
Thanks for putting this issue to rest everyone I guess next I`m going to get the oil press. ga. see what my normal pressure is then do the Melling LPOP thing and then I will know what pressure difference is between stock pump w/ 283K and the Melling.
