A chisel is the wrong thing to use, as it cuts into the race as you are pounding on it, it is acting as a wedge expanding the race, much like splitting wood. Use a good heavy punch on the race where the notches are in the back of the hub. 2 or 3 good whacks on one side then 2 or 3 good whacks on the opposite side going back and forth. To many hits on one side and it will wedge it in the hub also.
I managed to remove both front and rear with a steel dowel.
Three whacks and they popped right out. Ran them down to the classic parts store (which I discovered is about 2 miles from me) and Mark pressed them in for me for $10 /rotor.
Well worth it and I got to support a local shop, not a chain store.
Very happy now with fresh pads, fresh bearings and grease, and seals.
