Isn't that the way it always is? Got to entice new owners but couldn't care less about current owners.
Even the salesman who sold me the current truck forgot my name as soon as the ink was dry on the contract! Must be he thinks a sale is a once in a lifetime event.
boy i bet all owners with the old system are kicking themselves for not waiting for the good system thats comming out.
Who said the new system will be good? I do bet the 2035 models will be sweet so yeah I should have waited another 20 years like I did since my last truck.
pretty much like all computers or phones, phased out and not supported after 5 years, new hardware after that and isnt compatible. apple is know for these tactics for forcing you to upgrade hardware = $$ for them
Did some testing and here is what I found:
Test 1:
I start the truck and the phone syncs. If I put it in reverse it shows the camera and then in forward the screen changes to the phone display and freezes.
Test 2:
I start the truck and the phone syncs. If I press the home button and then I put it in reverse it shows the camera and then in forward, the screen stays on the home display and works fine. No freezing.
What I think is happening is that when the phone syncs, it changes to phone mode but still displays the home screen. Then it is all confused about what screen is being shown.
You might want to have your programmers check that theory out.

I'm glad you found a workaround for now. Since you're still noticing this issue even after performing the master reset, I think it's a good idea for your dealer to take a look the next time you're in for service.
Why is it necessary to have so many warnings about this connecting, that connecting, check your surroundings, features disabled when not in park, etc.?
Has demographics shown that most Ford owners are retarded?
