He replaced the stock shocks with Rancho RS9000 adjustables which are now offering a Shocktober special for a gift card for the price of the 4th shock. See Rancho for details.

As long as you have the right size sockets and/or wrenches - shouldn't be too bad.

(bought the incab myRIDE system, but haven't installed as I am not real confident it will work given that rancho doesn't sell it anymore )

Please note, that although I tout Rancho's I have to be honest and add the caveat that they didn't honor the satisfaction guaranteed warranty on the set of rancho 5000's still sitting in my garage from a previous vehicle... Make me an offer and they are yours, may have been on that truck for 3 weeks tops before I swapped them out for 9000's (and it was not a daily driver)
I have the incab adjustment on my 79 Land Cruiser. It leaks. Going to get different shocks soon and rip out the entire system.

10-4 on that! In fact one of the ***** got broken during shipping on the 9000s for the wife's Jeep. After a 3 minute call to customer service, they shipped me a new **** and I replaced it.

Many people complain of the adjusters freezing up from corrosion. Does Rancho recommend any type of lube to service the adjusters and prevent this problem? It almost seems to me that the seal on the adjustment **** mount would have to be bad for this to happen.

We have heard of people putting a little grease (inside the ****) with positive results. I find that if you move them every few months they are good to go.

I completed my install today. They're just shocks, but I know the rules, so here are pics.

I haven't driven since installing the fronts, and I haven't driven with the rears over the spots in the freeway that used to upset the tail of the truck, so I really can't comment too much, but so far it seems more behaved.
The install took about 15 minutes per shock, and that was because I was in no hurry. The toughest part of the job was breaking the bottom bolts loose on the fronts. They both took a little horsepower, but once broken, it was easy.

It's not the ***** that are leaking, but the actual in cab controller. I did have the Rancho 9000s on another vehicle with no controller and they worked very well.

Either way, I am doing a spring over lift on my Land Cruiser and won't be using it

Thanks,

Jon
